Web Security Services

Web security is no longer optional — it’s foundational. Whether you operate a SaaS platform, e‑commerce store, financial application, or high‑traffic digital service, your online presence is constantly exposed to automated threats, targeted attacks, and unpredictable traffic spikes. InfraClusters delivers end‑to‑end web security built on our proven infrastructure, giving your business the reliability, uptime, and protection required to operate confidently at scale.

What is Web Security?

Web security is the full set of technologies, practices, and protections that keep websites, applications, APIs, and online services safe from attacks, data breaches, downtime, and unauthorized access. It’s the defensive layer that ensures your digital presence stays available, trustworthy, and uncompromised.

The Most Common Types of DDoS Attacks

Volumetric DDoS attack

Volumetric DDoS attacks are the simplest and most common type of denial‑of‑service attack.

  • UDP Flood: Sends large numbers of UDP packets to random ports, forcing the server to check each port and reply with “destination unreachable,” wasting CPU and bandwidth. Easy to spoof due to UDP’s connectionless design.
  • ICMP Flood (Ping Flood): Overwhelms the target with ICMP Echo Requests, consuming both bandwidth and processing power as the system attempts to respond.
  • Amplification/Reflection Attacks (DNS, NTP, SSDP, CLDAP, Memcached): Attackers spoof the victim’s IP and send tiny queries to public servers that respond with much larger replies, massively amplifying attack volume. DNS amplification is one of the most widely used.

Protocol DDoS Attacks

Protocol attacks target weaknesses in core network protocols like TCP/IP. Instead of overwhelming bandwidth, they exhaust server or firewall resources by forcing devices to maintain or inspect large numbers of partial or malformed connections. These attacks are measured in packets per second (pps) rather than Gbps.

  • SYN Flood: Attackers send TCP SYN packets to start the handshake but never complete it, filling the server’s connection table with half‑open sessions and blocking legitimate users.
  • ACK/RST Floods: Attackers send excessive or malformed TCP packets with specific flags to confuse stateful devices or disrupt active sessions.

Application Layer Attacks (Layer 7)

These target the actual application (e.g., web servers, APIs, databases) by mimicking legitimate user behavior. They consume server resources like CPU, memory, or database connections rather than just bandwidth. Often measured in requests per second (rps). They are stealthier and increasingly common.

Common subtypes:

  • HTTP/HTTPS Flood (GET/POST Floods): Bots send high volumes of seemingly normal requests (e.g., page loads or form submissions) to exhaust application resources. HTTPS variants add encryption overhead.
  • Slowloris / Slow POST (RUDY): “Low and slow” attacks that open many connections and send partial HTTP requests or data very slowly, keeping connections open and tying up server threads without triggering volume thresholds.
  • Other advanced L7: API abuse, GraphQL introspection, HTTP/2 Rapid Reset (exploits stream resets), or targeting expensive endpoints (e.g., login, search, or AI queries).

Layer 7 attacks are challenging to mitigate because traffic looks legitimate; they often require behavioral analysis, rate limiting, or WAFs (Web Application Firewalls)

Protect your Sensitive Web Data

Your website, applications, and APIs handle some of your most valuable digital assets — customer information, transactions, authentication data, proprietary content, and business‑critical operations. Protecting this data requires more than basic hosting security. It demands layered, intelligent, always‑on defenses capable of stopping modern threats before they reach your infrastructure.

How InfraClusters Keeps Your Data Safe

  • DDoS mitigation that blocks malicious traffic before it reaches your server
  • Layer 7 filtering to stop botnets, scrapers, and application‑level attacks
  • Encrypted tunnels & secure routing across our backbone
  • Zero‑trust access controls to prevent unauthorized entry
  • Real‑time monitoring for anomalies and suspicious behavior
  • ProxyShield advanced protection for customers needing maximum resilience

Your sensitive data deserves more than basic hosting security — it deserves purpose‑built protection engineered for modern threats.
