Why AMD EPYC.More work per server.
Core density
From 16 to 192 cores in one socket, so you run more virtual machines and containers on fewer servers.
Memory bandwidth
Eight memory channels on earlier generations and twelve on 9004 and 9005 keep databases and analytics fed.
PCIe lanes
Up to 128 PCIe lanes per socket for NVMe arrays, fast networking and GPUs without bottlenecks.
Hardware security
AMD Infinity Guard features such as SEV encrypt virtual machine memory to isolate workloads.
Efficiency
Strong performance per watt lowers the power and cooling behind every workload.
Virtualization ready
Proxmox VE, VMware and Hyper-V run well on EPYC, with full root access to the host.
What teams run on EPYC.Built for heavy, parallel work.
EPYC servers suit workloads that use many cores at once: virtualization hosts, multi-tenant hosting, CI pipelines, media encoding and CPU-based AI inference.
Large memory capacity and NVMe storage make them a strong fit for PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and Redis, and for analytics that keep big datasets in memory.
- Virtualization and private cloud
- Databases and in-memory analytics
- AI inference and data pipelines
- Media encoding and streaming
- DevOps build and test farms

Questions, answered.
Which AMD EPYC generations do you offer?
All five: EPYC 7001 (Naples), 7002 (Rome), 7003 (Milan), 9004 (Genoa and Bergamo) and 9005 (Turin), from 16 to 192 cores.
Are AMD EPYC servers good for virtualization?
Yes. High core counts, large memory bandwidth and many PCIe lanes let one EPYC server run more virtual machines with Proxmox VE, VMware or Hyper-V.
Do EPYC servers support DDR5 and PCIe Gen5?
The 9004 and 9005 generations use DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5. The 7001 to 7003 generations use DDR4, with PCIe Gen4 from the 7002 series.
Where are AMD EPYC servers available?
In our Chicago, Ashburn and Los Angeles data centers.
What storage and bandwidth are included?
Each configuration includes 2 × 1 TB NVMe and 2 TB of SSD storage, a 1 Gbps port with 30 TB of monthly transfer and a /29 of IPv4 addresses. Unmetered and 10 Gbps options are available.
Are AMD EPYC servers suitable for AI inference?
Yes. EPYC handles CPU-based inference, data pipelines and analytics well, and pairs with GPU servers when a model needs one.
