Steady core, elastic cloud.Fixed cost for always-on, cloud for the rest.
Pair a steady core with elastic cloud, so workloads that never turn off run on your own cluster at one monthly price. Peaks, short-lived test environments and managed services go to the public cloud.
Why a steady core and elastic cloud work together.Pay for each workload the way it behaves.
Most environments have two kinds of load. There is a base that runs every hour of every day: databases, core applications, internal services. Then there are bursts: seasonal traffic, batch jobs, a test environment that lives for a week.
Metered cloud pricing suits the bursts. It is an expensive way to pay for the base. This pattern puts the base on a single-tenant cluster with a fixed monthly price and leaves the bursts in the cloud, where you can turn them off.

What ties the two together.Capabilities behind the pattern.
Private connections
Cloud bursts reach core data over AWS, Azure or Google Cloud private links.

Move workloads to the side that fits them, with a planned cutover and rollback path.

One team can run the cluster and your cloud accounts together.
Learn moreAn example in practice. One retailer-style workload, split by behavior.
Picture an online store. The product database, order system and internal tools run every hour of the year, so they live on a three-node cluster with a backup node and firewall. During a holiday rush, extra web and API capacity spins up in the cloud and reads from the core over a private connection. Test environments are created in the cloud for a sprint, then deleted.
Questions, answered.
How do I know which workloads belong in the steady core?
In the free design session we map your workloads and how they use resources. Anything that runs all the time is a candidate for the cluster.
What does the steady core cost?
A fixed monthly price per rack build, quoted after the design session, with no egress fees or per-request storage charges.
Can the core grow as the base load grows?
Yes. Each node adds processors, memory and disks together, so you grow one node at a time.
Is this the same as cloud rebalancing?
They are related. Cloud rebalancing is how you get here from an all-cloud setup. Steady core, elastic cloud is the shape you run once you are here.
